Installation piece of a shower cubicle with a microphone and a monitor playing Karaoke style narrative appropriated from songs that discuss fame.

Response to professional placement at the Levinsky Gallery, Plymouth, UK. Creating a piece to hypothetically submit for the Plymouth Contemporary 2021 Exhibition and the theme of 'Making it'. 

'Tonight Matthew...' aims to playfully engage the viewer to consider aspirating for fame while contrasting with a video of lyrics in a karaoke/confessional style using the words of those who have achieved fame. 

The constructed narrative tells a story of the rise and fall of an 'any-man' celebrity, with a video of Amy Winehouse's final performance playing behind the statements after 'Fame' appears.
