Conflict Through the Lens of Curated Machines, 2022

This project reflects on biases I had regarding the human and digital relationship in artworks C/ and Autoethno-Medisecretarial. The aim to hand over agency to a digital other (most commonly Google's Cloud Vision API) in conjunction with Asemic writing has unfolded into a practice that discusses a correlation between ways in which we interpret meaning and decode intentionally meaningless forms.

The work has developed to include themes surrounding conflict and military usage of AI technologies (Lethal Autonomous Weapons), with the images being built during the rising tensions and start of the war in Ukraine the images began to take on a new context by association.

The installation portrays a narrative of pre-computer approaches that informed how our computational systems were created, as well as ask how we are positioned in the system itself, with the uncanny realities we have built for ourselves.
